Hole-In- Ones: Players achieving a hole in one at C.G.A. rated course can register their accomplishment with Golf Saskatchewan to receive a certificate. Players achieving a hole in one at Tor Hill will be recognized on the hole in one plaque, and presented with a commemorative item of the hole (painting, mounted photo, e.g.) Put your signed and attested scorecard in your section’s locker.
BIRDIES, EAGLES AND CHIP-INS: FULL season. There is a separate competition for the morning and afternoon section.
Have every Birdie, Eagle or Chip-in you have in a (Club Sanctioned Event = including all events on the Schedule Sheet, Match Play rounds, Best Ball rounds, Tee at Tor and Club Tournament rounds) recorded on the Birdie, chip-in and Eagle form in google sheets. The captains will communicate the procedure to record the scores. All players are encouraged to record their birdies (one stroke less than par), eagles (two strokes less than par) or chip-ins (no putts are taken, the ball goes in the hole from off the green) made throughout the year (at Tor Hill Golf Course only). At the end of the season, prizes are awarded to the golfer who has the most birdies, eagles or chip-ins.
Best Ball Partners: Full Season. There is a separate competition for the morning and afternoon section.
A form is available on google sheets. The captains will communicate the procedure to record the partner's scores. Choose a best ball partner, someone you will be able to golf with several times on any day throughout the season. Have your names recorded on the form. Each time you play a regular 18-hole round of golf with your partner at Tor Hill (on the same day and course, not necessarily together), have your “best ball” round marked on the form. At the end of the season, the three (3) lowest best ball scores will be totaled and prizes awarded accordingly.
Best Ball Scoring: Full Season. There is a separate competition for the morning and afternoon section.
Each golfer uses their full current handicap as of the date of the round. Mark the strokes you get on each hole by placing a tick (*) or ticks (**) according to the difficulty of the hole, i.e. you divide your handicap up among the 18 holes according to the handicap rating for the yellow tees. The lower net score on each hole, between you and your partner, is the one used to determine the best ball score. CLICK For More Information.
Eclectic (Morning and Afternoon play in their respective clubs):
This tournament involves two rounds of golf that are played on specified dates.
For each hole, you take the lowest score between the two days to determine your own "best ball" score.
Net scores are used.
Match Play: Each section has a friendly competition between those wishing to participate in “Match Play”. Each player is guaranteed two (2) games and they use their own handicaps during play to level the playing field. Anyone can enter and it's a fun way to meet club members. Your handicap must be up to date before playing, i.e. all scores must be entered into the computer prior to starting the match. The honor is determined by the order of the draw or in the absence of a draw by lot, i.e. a coin may be tossed to determine who gets to play first on hole #1. It is not the lowest “gross” score per hole that wins, but rather your handicap that determines each hole. Depending on your handicap, you may be “spotted” extra points on any particular hole. If you have any questions, please ask one of the executive members to provide an explanation.
Booking for Match Play is the responsibility of the players involved. Draws for match play are posted in the locker room. All games must be played using the honor system. Watch for further details, sign-up sheets and instruction in the locker room. Observe the deadlines given for playing your match.
Honor system: The player who is to play first from the teeing ground is said to have the "honor". If your golf ball is further away from the hole, you play first. Everyone has a chance to win!!
